**OFFICIAL SEAFOAM THREAD**
hello guys ,recently i been expermenting with 'seafoam' and this stuff is pure sex in a bottle!!
It cleans the internals of your engine giving you better acceleration and fuel usage.
Heres a DIY for applying seafoam to the PCV valve of the 3.0 CL: for other engines, application should be similiar
,look back behind your engine bay you will see the ''T'' connection ,that is the tube you have to use to suck in the seafoam to your intake system.as you can see ,it has been disconnected in the pic below, proceed to directions below
1. grab the bottle and a foam cup,put 1/3 of the bottle in the cup
2. start your engine
3. go to engine bay and hold the tube running to the manifold and stick it in the cup ,it will suck the seafoam, but suck only for 2 secs eachtime so your engine wont die, repeat till the seafoam is done.
4.the engine will shake and act weird, and possibly die, just restart it and continue process if it does.
5.now you want to RUN to ignition(so stuff your engine wont have time to burn just yet) and turn your car off and let it sit for 15minutes so the seafoam can clean out the engine.
6.connect pcv valve back together
7.this is the fun part, turn your car on and drive it hard for about 10 miles smoking up the whole block!
its normal for Check engine light to come on,just reset it by disconnecting the positive from battery and it wont come back again.
WARNING: make sure to suck the seafoam to your engine from that T connection ,not to that black piece in the back

RE: Seafoaming your 3.0
ack.
Do you have more information on seafoam? I think i heard of something like this before, and I might want to try it on my accord, since it's high mileage.

+1 on the Seafoam treatment! I also use their transmission formula.

RE: Seafoaming your 3.0
it's highly suggested not to do it on any cars that have over 200,000 miles on the motor. seafoam cleans all the carbon deposits that might be helping keep the compression up on these older motors. i did it with mine that had 180,xxx on the motor and it worked wonders! i did 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the motor(through oil fill hole), and 1/3 through the vacuum line. my idle has dropped from 1,100 rpms to a nice 450-500 rpms. when your pouring it through the vacuum it is very recommendable that you have someone rev the engine up to about 3k rpms so that it doesn't die on you and it actually cycles through the motor! overall be safe because this procuct is very flamable and as always follow the directions on the bottle!
cuz i like to eat! nom nom nom....

RE: Seafoaming your 3.0
and if you have leaks blocked by carbon build up,they may start to show signs of leakage
(which is a good thing so you can fix them)

RE: Seafoaming your 3.0
Yea, the tranny treatment deff helps. But I must clarify that when you use it in your crankcase and your transmission, you dont leave it in there for a long time. I put 1/3 in vacuum, 1/3 in gas tank, and 1/3 in the crankcase. I drove about 200 miles and then changed the oil.
Also, the seafoam transmission treatment is a different product than the seafoam original. DO NOT put the regular seafoam in your transmission.

This is great info here, guys. Good job on the warnings and things---sometimes it might seem like something so simple could never be messed up, but you wouldn't believe how stupid people are sometimes LOL.

RE: Seafoaming your 3.0
You can actually use a lot more than what the can says.
Most people on Acurazine have had great success with running A FULL can through each the vac line, crank case, and gas tank. One member recently found Seafoam in a spray can under the name of Deep Creep.
New methods have also shown how to get the Seafoam in there better.
Sucking through the small vac line back there does not get it everywhere you need. We have been using the big vac line on the front of the throttle body. This sucks the Seafoam right in through the intake and cleans the butterfly valve as well.
Remember, moderation is key here. I'm not talking dump the whole can in at once. Disconnect the big vac line and connect a new piece of tubing to the nipple (the new tubing is used because after time the Seafoam will warp the rubber tubing causing a vac leak and idle problems). Dip the tip of the new hose into the can of Seafoam sucking it up slowly. Hit the throttle with your finger while sucking the Seafoam out to avoid stalling if it sounds like it's going to. After getting the whole can in there let it sit for about 10 and NO MORE THAN 15 MINS.
The next step is key which you mentioned already. Go for a HARD drive, not just a drive. You want to get the engine hot enough to burn all the carbon off. Make a few redline runs and hit VTEC.
Use a full can for when you have ~1/4 tank left. This will super-clean the injectors.
This is a direct quote from Seafoam Technical Services Department about using it in the crankcase
Sea Foam Motor Treatment used in Crankcase oil
All Gasoline and Diesel, Rotary style engines
Sea Foam Motor Treatment may be used in an oil crankcase 2 separate ways, depending on your needs and expectations.
Sea Foam Motor Treatment is most commonly used as a pre service old oil residue cleaner and moisture drier, and is also used as an after service additive.
1. As a pre service cleaner for old oil residue, sticky rings or valve train noise,
pour 1 ½ ounces of Sea Foam Motor Treatment into the engine oil crankcase for EACH quart of oil capacity including filter. (Diesels use 1 pint to 4 gallons of oil, please) Drive a MINIMUM of 30 minutes/miles, MAXIMUM 100 miles, then do your oil change service (LOF). This begins the process of safely/slowly re liquefying the old oil residue so contaminants may flow and be filtered. This also makes your old oil dirtier, quickly, so a LOF service is necessary when the oil gets dirty. (LOF = Lube oil & Filter service).
2. As an after service additive into fresh oil, nearly fresh oil, or oil (used condition) that is NOT ready to be changed (by mileage), put the same amount of Sea Foam Motor Treatment into the crankcase as described above, then SELF SET a program to MONITOR your oil for color and clarity on a mileage, timed, or event basis (like every time you add fuel, etc.) to determine when an oil service is necessary. (LOF)
Sea Foam Motor Treatment will safely and slowly re liquefy old oil residue, This will make your oil need changing BEFORE your normal scheduled LOF service. Only your monitoring of the oil for color and clarity can tell when it is time to do LOF - oil change service, or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Check your oil and monitor its color & clarity to determine need for LOF service!
Change your oil when it gets dirty!

Dude, I've been wondering exactly how to use this stuff for a while, but no one I know has ever used it. I was kind of concerned about putting horrendously flammable shit in my oil...
THANK YOU.

RE: **OFFICIAL SEAFOAM THREAD**
I seafoamed my 91 lx and boy did i get more power out of it for maybe a week and that was it. if you seafoam and use high octane gas then you will get a better result. This was about a mouth ago. I then tried a new thing like seafoam but i first used it on my lawn mower and put it right into the crab and it cleaned it right before my eyes. then i tried it in my car and it felt a little bit better then when i seafoamed it. cause this doesn't make you car smoke and it is easy to use as well

Trust me you will love this as much as seafoam maybe more.
