THE RSX IS THE BETTER ONE... THE RSX CAN WALK PAST THE CIVIC. DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO SPEND BUT THE SAME AMOUNTIN BOTH CARS... THE RSX WINS EVERY TIME! I HAVE AN 02 RSX-S AND NO CIVIC CAN HANG ALL MOTOR. THE PARTS ARE A LITTLE CHEAPER FOR THE CIVIC, BUT PERSONALLY I LIKE THE RSX.
IT WAS BEFORE I WENT TO THE CF & BLACK LOOK. I AM PLANNING ON POWDER COATING THEM FOR 250.00 BUT JUST HAVEN'T DONE IT YET. IT WILL STILL RUN, EVEN WITH CHROME!

1999 MBP 3.2TL-P 6MT Customer: Hey do you think we should change out the transmission fluid? Mechanic: No, it still looks nice and pink. Customer: Well, a pussy can look nice and pink and still give you AIDs. Mechanic: Yea, we should probably go ahead and change it.
rsx type-s = kpro and lots of aftermarket mods. 3-4 bolt ons and you ll be set (rbc manifold, kpro, intake, headers and tsx 06 exhaust cam)
civic 08 = no kpro (u will be stuck on ecu reflash or shitty piggybacks and tsx cams) and it has RBC manifold which is good.
both trannies have issues with 2nd gear and 3rd gear. Before you post shit about rsx, support your evidence. Search how many civic si's have issues with 3rd gear.
In my opinion rsx would be fine for you. Less money and more aggressive looks

yeah theres a recall on the rsx 2nd gearsets. i have to do one at work this week. booo. i say someone on here should give me and rsx type s swap to put in my 90 civic
You work at Acura... just wait until some old person comes to get their oil changed and swap them hahahahhaha
You have NO idea how much I thought about whenever a Type S comes in to swap out the wheels with mine and take the decklid spoiler. I figured they would never notice. Lol
haha, we had a tsx come in with a "locked up motor" 16k, put a new longblock in under warranty and now the tech that did the swap has a tsx longblock with 16k on it
Stock for stock the new Si's spank any year of the type-s. Modding is a different story. The RSX can easily make more power than an Si, the biggest reason being the Si's drive by wire system limiting the ability to tune and accomodate mods other than bolt-ons.

Not true, the si does have an advantage having lsd but the rsx is rated with a few more hp too..

Spank?
I haven't lost to one yet. Stock for stock it's a drivers race... On paper the Si should be barely quicker, but in the real world it just doesn't seem to be (not that it's far behind)

The new ones? They have a fair bit more power than even the Z1 motors, as far as the LSD goes, its rather insignificant on the straights with the DBW.

I don't know what school you went to, but 197hp is not "a fair bit" more than 201. In fact, it's less.

Fanboys will be fanboys I suppose. The Si's come stock with a better exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and more slightly aggressive cams than the K20Z1. 3 things I'd consider the weaker points of the previous K20's. Of course the Hondata reflash's between the two shows both engines potential to the fullest without a custom tune.
On the flipside, the K20Z3 in the newer Si's lack the abillity to be tuned other than the reflash. Which mod-wise is the limitation.
TS - About the only mods you can really do to the Si, as far as power goes, are intake, exhaust, and header, in addition to the reflash.
