2005 Honda Accord EX V6 Timing Belt Change

Hi guys,

We have a 2005 Honda Accord EX V6, and when we bought the car, it didn't come with an owners manual.

I'm trying to look up when Honda recommends to replace the timing belt on here, but having a hard time finding this information.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

ThumbUp

Reason I ask, is I'm used to replacing it at every 60K. I saw from some other sources going a Google search that some say Honda recommends it at 105K. I can't verify this since I don't have a manual.

What year is your Acura CL? Since it has the 3.0L engine, I wonder if it's the same as in my 05 Accord V6. When does Honda recommend replacing your timing belt?

Nevermind, I just saw you said it's a 1997. I doubt it's the same exact engine. I have almost 50K on my Accord, so it's getting close to crunch time.

well its the 3.0 but diffrent version

i never owned a car for over 50 k miles + so i wouldnt know, but what i know is that honda timing belts should last a long time.

my CL is on its original belt and it has 132 k,i got it checked they said i needed to replace it soon.

Could the V6 accords be a timing chain? My 05 2.4 liter I-4 is a chain belt, so it should last a while.

Please do so Sad a broken belt will result in a collision between the piston head and valve on your interference engine.

cars with timing chains have never the need to have that replaced.

My Sonoma has a timing chain and will always have the same timing chain.

Timing chains do break. Scary? Yeah I suppose, but rare.
