What do you guys think of the 2009 Honda Pilot? You think it's a worthy competitor? With gas prices being so high, I don't know if the 2009 Honda Pilot's system of shutting down 3 cylinders on the highway really saves that much gas.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of a system? I know the new Accord's have the same cylinder management feature.
I do like the new look of the Pilot, and I think for an SUV that offers 8 passanger seating, it's probably the best one. I think the next best one that offers 8 passanger seating is the Chevy Tahoe/GMC Yukon, but those are huge gas guzzlers, and not nearly as refined as the 2009 Honda Pilot.
My Pro's:
Nice interior
Nice exterior
Rides Nice, Quite, Refined
8 Passanger Seating
V6 is Powerful Enough for just about anything besides towing a huge boat
My Cons:
Fuel Economy
Gas Tank is about 20 gallons, so that's $100 a fillup
Do I really need an SUV?
How often will I go to the snow?
How often will I tow?
How often will I have 8 people in my car?

my mom had a 2005 pilot and i didnt like driving it. i felt like it didnt handle well in the snow. I barely touched the brakes and i started sliding. luckily i was just going in a straight line and was able to get traction back pretty quickly but i didn't wanna drive it in the snow again thats for sure. maybe the 2009 has a better system for 4x4 and in the snow but i didn't like the way it was in ours. we have since traded it in and now have a 2008 honda CR-V which i am liking much better but it only has 5 seats which is probably a downside for you
