Alarm Systems
Got this in an email, thought it might be helpful.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE AN ALARM INSTALLED?
In today's world, a security system is not only a necessity, but also a great convenience.
Protect your car from theft.
If you are ever in trouble, with the push of one button, you can set off the alarm and flash the parking lights to draw attention to yourself.
Convenience of remote start, keyless entry, power windows, domelight surveillance, and much more
A FEW THINGS TO NOTE
1. An aftermarket security system will not void your factory warranty.
2. Combining Security and convenience can be done with one easy to use remote.
HOW DO I CHOOSE AN ALARM?
When choosing a security system, there are two main concerns to take into consideration.
The level of Security Required/Desired:
Active or Passive Arming – unit can be either armed by remote or 30 seconds after door is shut. Passive arming allows for the unit to arm itself if forgotten. This ads an extra level of security and convenience.
High Output Siren- Our units include a 128 DB siren. This is the loudest siren allowed by law and will help you hear if an intrusion attempt is being made.
Status LED – A blinking light that informs possible intruders that the vehicle has and alarm system installed and activated.
Entry Point Protection – Whenever an entry point to the vehicle is opened this will set off the alarm and siren alerting you to a possible break-in.
Electronic Impact Sensor – This sensor can be tuned to allow sensitivity control of the alarm. With this feature you will not have to worry about the alarm triggering when the trash truck goes by.
Automatic Reset – This feature will automatically reset and rearm your alarm after going off for 1 minute.
Intrusion Memory Alert – When you return to the vehicle this function will alert you to and intrusion by flashing different patterns on the Status led.
Panic Alert – this function will activate a panic feature on the alarm which will flash the cars lights and activate the siren to draw attention to the vehicle.
Door Lock/Unlock Capable – Vehicles with power locks will be able to unlock and lock from outside the vehicle with the supplied remotes.
Temporary Silent Chirp – The audible chirp heard when functions are activated can be made silent to draw less attention to the vehicle.
Flashing Parking Lights – When the functions of the alarm are activated the parking lights will flash to inform you the command has been completed.
Manual Override – Users can manually over the alarm in case of a broken, lost or malfunctioning remote. This allows the user to either disarm or put the alarm into a silent mode.
Starter Disable – When the alarm is sounding, this feature will disable the vehicles starter to ensure the vehicle can not be stolen.
Valet Mode – This feature allows the user to temporarily turn off the alarm system so the alarm will not sound when the vehicle is being used by a unfamiliar user.
Dual stage shock sensor – This sensor’s sensitivity uses 2 stages so that the vehicle knows the difference between an accidental bump or tap and an actual intrusion or physical break in.
Triggered Zone ID - Each zone or entry point can be triggered independently. This means the user can actually know specifically at which zone the intrusion attempt occurred.
Two car operation - With the 5 button remotes supplied, users can control a second vehicle with the same system installed. Couples that share vehicles will only need to carry 1 remote each instead of
2.
Code Hopping - The remotes for the system will actually "hop" from channel to channel. With billions of channels in the data bank, this ensures that no 2 remotes will be on the same channel at the same time.
Dome light supervision - This feature will turn your dome light on when the door is unlocked to give the user better vision when entering the vehicle. This is also useful in big parking lots to help identify your car from others.

RE: Alarm Systems
Are there alarm systems that are customizable and programmable? It would sweet to have a holographic alarm system in my ride.
