question
Wus sup everybody, i have Viper 300 alarm, it just cut out on my just last week. Found out that i just blew my 10(red) fuse. I put another one in, my alarm wont make a sound at all. All that is working is my lights going on and off. Another thing that blew was my LED bulb that's inside the car. Can you guys help me on this. I don't feel like paying the extra 50 bucks for the guys to trouble shoot this or having to pay for a new alarm if mine still works. Could it be just the speaker that blew??? The LED i already fixed, its just the sound. I was also thinking about buying a horn from kragen for 10 bucks, but will it be able to power it??? I just want to make use of my alarm since its in my car already.

RE: question
The horn might have an in-line fuse.. it's inside a little plastic box

RE: question
There should be a brown wire from the brain running to the red wire on the siren. Then a black wire from the siren should go to ground. Make sure that they are connected. If you have a test light or multimeter check to see if the red wire is getting positive 12v when the siren should be sounding. Make sure the siren is facing down so moisture won't get in it. If all checks out good, may be a bad siren ?

I won't be needing an alarm for my car.....

Awesome ! I don't know where you got the idea that a siren would be 50 bucks ! They range between $5 and $30 depending on what brand, how many tones, type, etc...

Where was your old siren mounted and how ? The best place to mount them is usually on the firewall. Make sure to aim the siren face down and away from any place where it could get wet.

Yeah the guy before me installed a clifford in the wheel well and on my trip back from buying the car the wheel well fell into the tire cause it wasn't mounted at all and melted most of it away so whenever it rains bad the damn thing doesn't work and eventually once it dries its fine. I ordered a new wheel well but i haven't installed it yet. I realize i have to get the passeger side to after i ordered the first one.

RE: question
I also had a question with regards to a system to detect whether a driver is capable of driving long distances. I actually experienced drowsiness while driving several hours, but I think an EEG test prior to driving would determine if your brain is capable of functioning by identifying a driver's brain function which would keep him/her sharp during their journey.

Is any such system in development?

Thanks for answering my question as well!
