So the past couple 8-10 months have been pretty rough for me

not working is a PITA and its been shitty (i havent been laid off the whole time but its been extreemly inconsistent)

so last week my GF got a job (finally) it dosnt pay much but im proud of her

yesterday i got hired at the 3rd largest brake pad manufacturer in the world as an account manager!!!! ballin

now the granddaddy of them all i was tinkering with my EP today and i pulled the ecu... low and behold i find "03 rsx type s" written on the back so naturally i check for kpro junk and find nothin

so i get to thinkin WTF is a A2 ecu doing in my A3????

then i think maybe its not an A3.....
MAYBE lucky item #3???

i pull the valve cover and i think i found 3 lobe cams....... im tired as fuck and fuckin excited so i have to go to sleep ill confirm tomorrow

lol how long have you owned this car? You had to have heard the VTEC crossover and seen a 8.2k rev limit and wondered WTF was up before. That's like not knowing you have a 9'' dick.

well to be honest i never really put it past 6 EVER i dont know why but yeah apperently yesterday my foot was feeling a little heavy IDK but its sweet

Seriously though, you are way lucky. I guess if you never drove another EP3, and it's still got the 5 speed in there, and stock gauges, you wouldn't know until you really got on it...that or the engine stamp. Btw...how long have you have your EP?

EDIT - Run a carfax if you haven't already. Make sure they didn't swap because of a front end collision. And see if the swap shows up on the carfax, if not, get the VIN# off the block and try and find it's history. More than likely it was imported from a place that gaurantees under 40k miles or so, but you want to be sure.

i have run a carfax on the car and no accidents have been reported but that dosnt mean that it hasnt been in one not all accidents are reported

yeah im a little concerned about the miles but i dont think its an issue i have had the car since feb 08 and its never thrown a cel and i have had no issues

im going to do a compression test soon to take a look at that so if anyone around me wants to help hit me up ( i have never done that before)

plus i think i need a valve adjustment

Very true...maybe take it to your body guy and have him inspect under the hood for prior accidents? If you bought it privately I would call the person up and get more info. on the motor. If you bought it from a dealer, find out where the vin# is on the block, you can atleast find out if it's from a USDM type-s or one of those mad tyte jdm motors! A compression test is a smart idea.

Can anyone around here (Chicago) help me with a compression test??
