exhaust ideas
so i want a new exhaust right now. my friends tell me ebay twin loop but if anybody wants their baby girl to look right you don't tell her to shop at the closest goodwill. any ideas on a good exhaust. now i've also went on youtube and saw some tenabi but it didn't excite me at all. what i want is something that doesn't give me that canned "ricey" sound. i want something that is low/deep toned... any suggestions... oh and of course i want good performance from it too. just some info on what i have, 96 teggy ls

no. its a company that started with just Subie exhausts. its just an N1 style. fits perfect. sounds perfect. and is easy on the wallet,(which is my favorite part)

Easy killer, in a realm where name makes or breaks you, it's not uncommon to hear of a knockoff that is using a similar name. Having read many of Spade's posts he was doing one of two things. Clarifying this fact (company name) or at the worst, giving a friendly jab.
This is a small site with it's own ways, sliding into the group with little conflict can often help you learn how to recognize these comments for what they are. There are no standard flame sessions on this site, just simple friendly pokes

RE: exhaust ideas
Did you ever get your exhaust? If not I would recommend buddy club. I just bought a civic with a b16 and it has dc headers and buddy club exhaust. Pure sex. It's a little loud but very deep/low. I get looks from people all the time in their mustangs and camaros.lol

RE: exhaust ideas
If loud is not what you're looking for, I will second Alan (808EK96) in the vote for the Apex'i WS2. Granted, if you don't want to spend $600+shipping, you won't want the WS2, but it's the quietest among the exhausts posted here.
Skunk2 = Loud.
Buddy Club = Loud, even with the silencer in place.
HKS = Loud.
Tanabe = Not AS loud, but still not quiet.
Unfortunately, there really isn't an exhaust that will perform well without being loud for the Integras. (IMO)

RE: exhaust ideas
I meant a bolt on catback exhaust. Of course you can have someone weld up a custom catback with a resonator and a good muffler.

RE: exhaust ideas
I spent big bucks on my exhaust, but I also have to have things my way or stock. Probably the biggest key to avoid the raspy note is a resonator. Pick the one you like the most and if it's a touch raspy up top then drop in a 12-18" resonator.

?? he...didn't say what type of car he has....
OP: Whoever told you that the Worldsport sounds ricey has no ears. It sounds like a stock exhaust...but maybe a bit louder/deeper. It's actually quieter than a 06+ Si exhaust.
SR*S is a total knock off of RS*R. It's an ebay no name kung fu racing type brand. That's why it's "easy on the wallet".
This all depends on what type of exhaust you want. Basically, there are 2 kinds. The style with the can (N1 style), or the Oval muffler type (World sport, RS*R EX Mag, Tanabe touring medallion, etc.).
I prefer the oval muffler type because they're quieter.
Here are some general facts:
ANY loud can style exhaust you put on a civic/integra is going to sound kinda ricey (IMO). It will make the signature BWAAA noise when you take off. There are some that sound less raspy, more raspy, less loud, more loud, more deep, less deep..whatever. You can generally find these on eBay for very little $ since it's easy to make a pipe with a can on the end. They will usually make more power than a oval muffler style exhaust because there is more flow. The name brand ones might make more power, and will definately fit better than eBay knockoffs.
Most name brand ones will generally last longer than the eBay knockoff types.
If you have a test pipe, you will get a buzz. No doubt.
Exhausts sound different from inside than they do from the outside. Yes, your can might sound super deep and mean on the inside...but you might sound like the rice burglar on the outside.
Using a silencer on the can type exhausts sounds fine on the inside. Sounds F'ing STUPID on the outside. You get a lot of buzzing and a little bit of farting with a bunch of rattling.
Depends on what you want. There are about 50 billion exhaust options for civics/integras.
I really like the Apex'i worldsport2 or the RS*R exmag if you want quiet.
If you want medium loud, use 2.25 to 2.5'' piping, a resonator, and a Vibrant oval straight through muffler. My 99 hatch with a B16 sounded amazing with that setup. I'll have to find a video. But it was definately louder than I'd really want. It looked really stealth, though.
here's how it looked:
lol!! Here's what my Si looked like when I first bought it. Rice burglar exhaust and tail lights. So embarassing to drive around for the first few days.
Anyway, I think this is the SR*S exhaust. It came with the car. Notice the really bad fitment.
Here is the world sport before I lowered the car:

RE: exhaust ideas
The Apexi WS2 and similar exhaust sound so much better for daily driven cars. I'm using a twin loop trying to find that middle ground between the two types of exhaust B serious is talking about. Trust me it's bucks for what I am getting, and I doubt many people will be willing to go this route when things like the WS2 and Medallion are so affordable.

Lol...I just spent $1300 on an exhaust for my s2000. The only saving grace is that it was supposed to cost $1500 before I emailed Dennis from evasive. [/code]

U get off easy then. A header is another $1000-1500+ for me.

Yeah, I don't think I could spend 3k on an exhaust even if I tried. The most costly cat back for my car is $1,200 and about the same for a header.

RE: exhaust ideas
ha, sucks to be me! It's cool, though. I can live without a header. Or buy a used one. I've seen used comptech ones floating around for like $700ish. I didn't have the cash...so I didn't buy. Gotta live by that rule lol.
