87 Prelude swap with H22a
Hi,
I'm new to this site and to posting on forums. I have an 87 Prelude that just blew a connecting rod. I also have a 99 H22a that I want to swap into my car. I need help finding motor mounts, and any advice that other Prelude drivers could give me. The car is in perfect condition, no rust (in Massachusetts, hard to believe) and otherwise mechanically great, 103,000 miles. Can anyone help me?

Your best bet is Hasport
They are the authority on motor mount kits for swaps
As far as help on the swap. vist honda-tech and honda-swap
And how did you blow a connecting rod??? never knew they would be first to blow in an engine, always thought they would be one of the last!
What engine you have??

Welcome to the site!

His is probably the bastard B20...

Archibald is right, check up on http://www.hasport.com for mounts. As far as wiring goes, you're going to need the harness from the OBD-II engine, and the conversion harness from OBD-II to OBD-0 or OBD-I depending on what ECU you want to run. OBD-I is easiest to tune if you want to run more power than stock. Face it, who doesn't want more power than stock?

Welcome! It's great to see more luders here! Awesome that you have a 2nd gen in great condition. That is almost unheard of these days. We would also like to see your 5th gen as well. Post pics of both! ThumbUp

Believe it or not I blew the connecting rod doing 65 on the highway. The engine started losing power, loud clacking noise, I let off the gas and boom, done. The car has never been beat, always pampered. My mechanic thinks it may have been a defect. I checked with hasport, they have nothing. I don't have a 5th gen lude, just the motor with harness. I'll probably go to Trick Engineering in NH for the swap, they'll put in a Hondata system. They can make custom motor mounts, but it'll cost me two days labor. I'm hoping to find some mounts already made, then I can put the money into getting more power. I'll get some pics asap. It really is a nice car and doesn't deserve to die.
