missing/hesitation
im new to redline so bare with me

i have a 97 hatch with a 93 b18a1,
going down the road as im giving it gas half or full throttle it will fall on its face, then you give it more gas and it jerks forward then bogs down like you have the e brake on, then around 4k it will kick in and run strong, if i let off rev up put it back in gear it will run fine for a sec then it jerks back then i give it more gas, it jerks forward like i dont know how to drive a 5 speed, it will do it continuously for awhile then check engine light will come on and it will quit and run fin, just put a new o2 sensor on it and a new fuel filter it quit for awhile and just started doing it, ive reset the ecu many times nothing i dont think its a vacum leak or it would do it all the time, hard to describe, have any questions or comments that would be appreciated

RE: missing/hesitation
have you had the cel read when it comes on? that's gonna be the easiest starting place.
is anything else wrong? smoking? noise?
and are you positive you checked all the vacuum lines? most notable the iac valve
What wiring harness are you using? If you use the incorrect one it will fuck up you a/f ratios.

RE: missing/hesitation
do you know the person that did the swap? you could ask which harness
I know of people who have had similar problems after using the wrong wiring harness

what color is the smoke? like whitish or blue or black...
what ecu do you have?

RE: missing/hesitation
Yeah, he's got the d series ecu in it, but I'm not sure which one; can't remember. I'd assume the d16y7 ecu. I think they come stock in the 96-00 hatches, but could be wrong.

I tried to use my code reader to read the CEL, but it just sat there and nothing ever popped up. The reader was getting power, but just sat there with moving dotted lines, like it was waiting to read the CEL, but nothing. Weird.

--------
People in town have also speculated that it might be a bad head gasket or bad motor mount. He's not loosing any coolant or oil anymore as far as I know, so Idk how it could be the head gasket. And I have no idea if it could be a bad motor mount. That doesn't make much sense to me, but what do I know? Lol

k well b18a1 for 93 is obd1
p06 is the obd1
it should work, albeit not to it's potential. I dont know whats wrong in your harness, maybe nothing, unless you have an earlier b18 which is obd0....
youre running an 1.8 litre engine on maps for a 1.5. the air/fuel is going to be off. you can try getting it tuned or chipped for a better map so it runs better until you change the head and ecu again.

thats the first thing that pops into my head for this. but don't blame me if im wrong Smile

well its always ran alittle rich, but all this was a clogged fuel filter an the vacum hose had worked its way off the map sensor, lol but hopefully soon it will have an h series in it with a p13 or something compatable with h series

I spent a week troubleshooting an automatic transmission on a 90's Chevy pick up to discover one of the vacuum lines had become clogged with dirt when it was loose before lol.
