88 honda civic problem!!!!
well i bought a 88 honda civic for $150. i am having some issues. well i noticed that it has the b15b in it, but it has the dual point intake and everything else stock. the problem i am having is that the car will start and run good, but if it shut it off and go to start it again the fuelpump does not kick on to prime it. i check all the wiring and its all good. the main relay is good. the ecu was throwing a code 15. which says it is the ignition control module, which i changed and still same problem. i got a different ecu, but still doing the same thing. does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? not sure what ecu it is supposed to be in it stock.

It might be the wiring for the pump or the wiring for the ignition module. The fuel pump might be to blame, but that's a tough call. Buy a $20 manual from autozone and look thru the wiring for that system.

RE: 88 honda civic problem!!!!
ok, its just weird cause like if i was to go start it right now its will start up, but if i just it off and then try to start it again it wont and i dont hear the pump kick on. yeah i have the manual for it. so i will check the wiring again. now the igniton module is in the distrubtor. do u think could be a problem from the wiring from that and/or the wiring in the igniton in the steering colum. well i do thank u guys alot for u opions. i will keep yeah posted on it. but if u guys any other ideas let me know

RE: 88 honda civic problem!!!!
The icm is in the distributor and that could very well be the cause. You can check icm resistance readings at the distributor according to the manual. If u need a distributor, u can try distibutorking.com. lifetime warranty distributors for cheap...and the best customer service reps I have dealt with.

A faulty ICM will cause the pump not to prime?
