RE: Hey guys! New FA5 owner =)
Well, lots of people are sticking with the stockies these days for 07-08. But if you want after market wheels it tends to carry many styles very well, the main issue is color selection. I would also recommend a bit of a drop. HFP will get you down about an inch, have almost no effect on the ride and cure that glaring wheel gap 17" wheels have on our car. Granted this is all simple cheap solutions.
I would also suggest that you go for the whole I/H/E. For intake I highly recommend the Fujita, I'm using this until I finish the boost set-up and have no complaints. Just get a P2R throttle body and IM gasket and heat soak won't be too much of an issue. Header is a bit tricky for you Cali guys, a nice shorty with the stock downpipe and cat will add a few ponies and help free up the exhaust a touch while staying legal. If you don't care then I say Skunk2 or Vibrant if you don't want to spend the 750-800 for the Skunk2. The cat back, I would suggest staying away from the Skunk2 or any N1 style muffler cat-back, they sound like hell IMO. Apexi WS2, Greddy and a couple others make a nice sounding exhaust with no drone, rasp or riceyness. If you are willing to drop some bucks then you can look at the Hytech (850ish) or Mugen Si (1,400ish new, 850 or so used) exhaust.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm just getting used to the whole k20 thing. Big difference going from a d16 to k20, so I'm still lost as to what people are doing with them

Well you can do anything from a 275-300whp NA street beast (with out without a 100-120 shot of nitrous on top), a 400+whp boosted on stock internals or a 600whp built turbo Vette killer...all with DD status. The list is endless, parts for a K20 are about where parts for a JDM B18 outta a type R where before the K series price wise. Maybe a little higher but it's close enough.
Visuals is what really sets you apart in a 8th gen. Notice how drastically different my car looks compared to a stock Si. All I've done is Gunmetal wheels, tint, drop, debadge and Mugen window vents...that's it. Soon I'll get those projectors in and that will set it off just a touch more. That's like $2,400 in visual mods with the largest chunk being $1,600 for the wheels. Granted my projectors will up the total to $3,800 but damn are they worth it.

Most everyone that goes with I/H/E, cams and Flashpro sees 220+whp (couple of freaks have reached 240whp but it really depends on the dyno, the day, quality of parts and blah blah blah). Now matter how you spin it, this will rocket you well into 200+whp range.

It's about $3,400 for the JRSC, with a proper header and cams I've seen them pull 300-330whp on the stage two...so all in all it would cost you the same as a fully built NA K24...parts wise. Now if you considered possibly building the motor later on you could easily break 350whp...couple guys were running nitrous with the JRSC and were dropping some very respectable 1/4 mile times.
